doTERRA Brand Oregano and OnGuard Blend Essential Oils

Remember that feeling when you are about to get sick and your mind yells, “No! It’s not really happening!”…and so you keep going on with life as usual, hoping for the best. Then “SLAM,” a cold or a flu has you in its grips. Now have to decide whether to work while sick (taking the risk of making other people ill, in many cases), or staying home to rest and recover. Now there is something you can do.

At the FIRST SIGN that you may be feeling unwell, use the doTERRA brand essential oils: “OnGuard” blend, and “Oregano” as a team.

Put two to four drops of each oil in the palm of your hand, along with a few drops of any carrier oil (such as olive oil or coconut oil). Rub your hands together and then apply the mixture to the bottoms of your feet, as well as all over and in between your toes. Then put socks on. Repeat the same procedure, instead rubbing the mixture into your hands, and then wiping some of the extra off onto the back and front parts of your neck.

Some people’s skin is very sensitive to the essential oils, so you might start with less (like, 2 drops of each oil with the carrier), especially as applied on the neck, to make sure you do not feel a “burning” sensation. Then work your way up to four drops of each oil per application.

Reapply the oils every hour for the first few hours of feeling unwell….This is if you are trying to beat back a real flu-like feeling coming on… .Then reapply the oils 3-5X per day until a few days after you feel all better. You should apply the oils even after you are already feeling better so you don’t get a reoccurrence from not having killed it off well enough. This may sound excessive, but what’s worse?…to have the inconvenience of applying oils, or to be down for the count for three to 10 days or more?

If you only feel a vague discomfort, such as a sore throat (localized to the throat), or a less ill feeling, use the OnGuard + Oregano protocol as described 2-3X per day until better.

How do doTERRA Brand Oregano and OnGuard Blend Essential Oils work?

Plant-based essential oils, when applied to the skin (especially at the hands and feet) go systemic within 20 minutes, reaching just about every cell in your body. Essential oils can cross cell walls to enter into the cells themselves. Other supplements don’t do this.

Other supplements for cold and flu stimulate the cells to take action with antibodies in order to fight the pathogens, but they do not actually enter the cells. (“Pathogens,” by the way, include virus, bacteria, molds, yeasts and other bad microbes.) The OnGuard and Oregano oils permeate, making a background that’s hard for pathogens to live and to replicate in. And yet the oils are not at all harmful for the human body.

You must use the two oil types together for best effect. We have feedback where people get limited improvement (meaning sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t) when one oil alone is used. The OnGuard blend and Oregano oils together have a synergistic enhancement of the properties that drive out the bad “bugs.”

Scientific evidence shows that oregano is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and is useful for colds and flus.

Oregano is also pro-circulatory, anti-inflammatory, and a free-radical fighter. The OnGuard blend has oil of clove bud, citrus peel, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. OnGuard reduces the chemical mess that is inflammation with the rosemary. Rosemary works on four major chemical pathways of inflammation. Then the antibodies can find the pathogens better without the cloud of inflammation in the way. The citrus is a strong anti-oxidant, and can damage the coatings of pathogens. Eucalyptus opens up the circulation to bring more antibodies to where they are needed and flush toxicity. The cinnamon is pro-circulatory too, and also anti-oxidant. The clove is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, pro-circulatory, and anti-inflammatory.

You may also take a drop of each of the oils in your glass of water for internal use (a couple times per day). Test gingerly for sensitivity. Though it is tolerated well by most people even though the flavor is strong.

Disclaimer: Seek medical care if your flu symptoms worsen over the next day or two of this essential oil protocol. Home remedies are not a replacement for medical care in regard to a serious flu, nor for sore throats that are raw and red or that have pustules and that do not go away within a few days with this remedy.  The OnGuard + Oregano protocol is for colds, flus and sore throats. These essential oils may not kill other pathogen types such are giardia in the gut or other gut infections. This protocol is not intended for the very young, such as those under four years of age. The elderly and the very young should seek medical care for serious colds, flus, and sore throats, especially when there is a high fever.
